They sell the world's best acai bowls! Just ask for the classic or check out their range - it's seriously impressive and so delicious.
(Ask for the coconut bowls otherwise they'll automatically give you the plastic bowls). Coffee is good too :)

So many options and so good. Take the 777 bus to Christine Ave, and indulge. Do check whether they're open first though, as they are closed some nights, as well as double up as a music venue.

Walk from Burleigh heads through the national forest. Enjoy the bush turkeys scratching about, the amazing views at the lookouts, and the reward of a dip in Tullebudgera Creek at the end of it. If you cross to the other side of the creek (either by swimming or over the bridge) there's a little cafe for coffee and treats).

Not quite what I was trying to write, but try walk along the beach or esplanade from Burleigh Heads to North Burleigh lookout. On the other side of the look out is Piccolos, a cafe (closes around 2.30pm) is good for a pitstop.

Head to the mountains if you have a car. There's all sorts of Great Walks you can do, but Purlingbrook Falls is a good one :) Canyon Circuit is about 4kms, and has a few waterfalls and pretty lookouts too. There are some longer ones but I'd strongly recommend checking weather forecasts before going out (BOM) as it rains a lot more there than it does on the coast.

My favourite mountain range on the GC. Absolutely beautiful, crisp and clear.

Just a 1km circuit, but you see a lot of cool, dramatic geography! About a one hour drive away, but worth it if you love getting lost in nature's beauty. There used to be a lot of glow worms in the cave, but unfortunately, due to a lot of buses of tourists over time, they aren't as specular as they used to be.

Beach and creek. Currumbin is where I always paddle board - it's so beautiful especially on a sunny day.
After whatever activity you feel like doing there, go to The Shack and enjoy a coffee/drink/snack/meal, or the "Gold Coast Surf Club Currumbin Vikings" (Currumbin Surf Club) to almost eat and drink on the water! You just need ID.

The most iconic view of the Gold Coast is from Burleigh Hill, as you look along the coastline to see the little city of the GC :)
Burleigh hill is good for picnics (feel free to take the picnic blanket in the living room cupboard), and also a cool point from where to look for whales breaching and dolphins swimming! Whale season is from April-October as they migrate up the coast and back.

No locals LOVE Surfers Paradise (although if you're down for a trashy night out of the town, it is fab!), but if you feel like being impressed, have a drink up at the Q1 viewing deck (it's about $30/person). If you can go late afternoon, you'll catch all the views of the canals and waterways during daylight hours, and the pretty lights in the evening.
