The South Downs Way runs through West Sussex, passing the edge of Brighton and finishing in Eastbourne in East Sussex. You can be in the park in minutes via car, bus or train and access many walking trails. A firm favourite of ours starts in Stanmer Park (catch the train to Falmer) and ends in Lewes where you can find plenty of pubs to quench your thirst and then catch the train back.

Neighbourhoods

Five Ways is characterised by streets lined with historic terraced homes, and is so-called after the five-pronged junction where Preston Drive, Ditchling Road, Hollingbury Road, and Stanford Avenue converge at the top of the hill. As all essentials are available in the area – from great cafes and bakeries to vintage clothes and second-hand books shops to a pizzeria, wine merchants and a tap room – you can avoid going into town if you’re not in the mood. If you want to pamper yourself, Aprils beauty salon and Five Ways Beauty Rooms are sure to have what you are looking for. Finally there is a co-op and post office incase you need either!
