Do you like untamed nature? How about Alpacas? You'll get both when you visit Sydhavnstippen, a hidden gem of nature to the south of the center of the city.
If you have the time, I'll recommend walking there from our home, starting from the beach and then following the water. If you have a bike, I recommend cycling all the way around Kalveboderne and making a stop here. No matter how you get there, its worth the visit.

Vesterbro is probably the most interesting part of Copenhagen and have undergone a lot of development in recent years. If you are a foodie Vesterbro is an absolute must with an abundance of restaurants and cafés most of which are worth a visit.

This venue is only 10 minutes by train from Åmarken Station and is a great place to get something to eat and soak up the atmosphere of Vesterbro, probably the coolest part of Copenhagen.

Traveling with kids
If you have children in the ages 2-12, Naturlegepladsen is a great place to spend a couple of hours. It is one of the many newer playgrounds in Copenhagen that are all of high quality and fun for both adults and kids.
It can be a bit tricky to reach from our house since there's no direct transportation there, but if you have the time, I recommend you walk to the playground following the water all the way until you reach Valbyparken.

Valby Vandkulturhus is a nice, small public poll not far from our place. It can be a bit busy in weekends but if you are here outside the usual peak hours, it's a great place to relax with your kids.

You can reach Tivoli and Copenhagen Central Station within 20 minutes by S-train from Åmarken station.

Biking in Copenhagen
I recommend everyone who visits Copenhagen that they rent or bring bikes. From our house there's great routes both to Vesterbro and Amager and it takes around 30 min to get to the center of the city by bike.
But be aware that there can be a lot of cyclist and you need to pay particular attention when you get inside the city. In Denmark biking is a means of transportation not a toy. If you keep that in mind, I definitely think its the best way to see the city.

The new metro-ring
Copenhagen recently opened the new metro-ring, which makes most of the inner city easily accessible, particularly if you are a tourist. The quickest way to get to the metro ring is taking the s-train from Åmarken Station to Copenhagen Central Station from where you can take the Metro.
