One of my favorite places to get quick in and out tacos, or more accurately, taquitos (little tacos). You choose the meat, but everybody gets the same thing - 3 taquitos and sides. I originally categorized this as "theater" because the cathedral at night becomes a unique light show, but then I changed it to "art gallery" because it's really the backdrop for an amazing work of art created by a French light artist. It depicts the story of San Antonio, using the architecture of the cathedral as its medium. It's free and I think every night from Tuesday thru Saturday. Google "The Saga."

A HIGH POINT FOR A HIKE - GREAT VIEWS
Historic tower with great view of downtown SA.
During the Spanish Colonial period, the Apache, and later the Comanche Native Americans, lived in the area as they likely utilized the waterways including nearby Cibolo Creek. The hill was also a prominent landmark for travelers in the 18th and 19th centuries. The El Camino Real de los Tejas or The Royal Road of Texas, running from San Antonio to Nacogdoches in East Texas, extended past the base of the hill along Nacogdoches Road. The road followed earlier Native American travel routes and today is a designated National Historic Trail.
