We think palm cove is Cairns loveliest beach getaway. It’s quieter than port Douglas but more peaceful. Lots of great places to eat. Take a day trip and go for lunch, a walk on the beach, browse some shops and maybe have a massage. Only 30 minutes drive from Edgehill or catch the bus.

Take a day trip and go for lunch, a walk on the beach, browse some shops and maybe have a massage. Only 30 minutes drive from Edgehill or catch the bus.
So much to do at Port Douglas- it’s a beautiful coastal drive, lots of cool shops and great cafes and restaurants. You Could easily spend a couple of nights there, but if you’ve only got time for a day trip, it’s only about an hours drive.
Sunday is a good day to visit as there’s a large market every Sunday morning.

Four Mile Beach, Port Douglas
5 EsplanadeSo much to do at Port Douglas- it’s a beautiful coastal drive, lots of cool shops and great cafes and restaurants. You Could easily spend a couple of nights there, but if you’ve only got time for a day trip, it’s only about an hours drive.
Sunday is a good day to visit as there’s a large market every Sunday morning.

This is one of my favourite thing’s to recommend if you like history. it’s good value. Allow the whole day to drive up and back but the drive is lovely and there is plenty to see on the tablelands.
