The buffet features the best hot-and-sour soup in town, fresh vegetables always, wonderful rice noodles ... the decor is unpretentious, but the place is spotless. And it's one of the very few restaurants where you can enjoy a good meal without having to listen to somebody else's soundtrack. That's right: NO piped in music! Not everyone's cup of tea, but quite a refreshing change. And the food is excellent, of course.

The food is superb, modestly priced, and fresh! This is one of the places I always take people from out of town. On an extremely busy intersection near the university, you would think the place would be packed constantly, but I've always been able to get seated quickly. Try the Pollo a la Plancha, and ask for the onion-pepper salsa on the side. YUM.

Only place in town to get Udon soup. (If I'm wrong, please tell me who else is making it in soup form!) A little pricy, but well worth it. Their sushi is top flight as well.

The heart of the city: Everyone goes to Lake Ella, they bring their kids and dogs, they play chess and talk, they jog, practice yoga or play musical instruments. There's a farmer's market every Wednesday. The Black Dog Café and the American Legion Hall are at the north end, and food-truck events happen once or twice a week on the west end.
