Walk or ride if you're heading Downtown
Grand Junction is flat and bike friendly. Beautiful neighborhoods, friendly folks, and flat as a pancake! Of course, we have Uber, Lyft, taxis, and public buses, too.

Our advice changes with the seasons
1. Colorado National Monument is great any time of year, just drive safe.
2. Grand Mesa is great for winter and summer. Downhill and cross country skiing, snowshoeing, mountain biking, fishing, camping, hiking... it's all there. Wear layers, bring bug spray, sunscreen, and drive safe.
3. During the summer, hit the many farmers markets around the Valley. Grand Junction, Fruita, and Palisade each have one once a week. Palisade also has lots of roadside stands.
4. Wine tasting, hard liquor flights, and the beer scene are always on in Palisade no matter what time of year.

Layers, layers, layers!
Bring lots of layers, even in the summer. Air conditioning inside buildings in the summer can be really cold. Nights get cooler and you never know when the weather is going to change. We can have all four seasons in one day sometimes. Having a few clothing options is always a good idea. No need to get too fancy if you're headed out, unless you want to. We're pretty laid back here.
