Swimming areas are found in various spots you'll find deeper water. Level vary throughout the entire river. If the water levels are low, it will take more time to get to your end-point destination with walking in some areas. Suggest checking water levels when planning your float day.
Otherwise, a lake day may be an easier route.

Overlook Park is on a hilltop at the south end of Canyon Dam and is the location of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers headquarters at Canyon Lake. The park offers a scenic view to Canyon Lake and Dam. There is access to the Verada Real walking trail across Canyon Dam. A restroom at the top of the hill and visitor parking is available. There are no camping or picnic facilities but you are welcome to hike and picnic.
