Mazza offer authentic Middle Eastern cuisine such as Falafel, Shawarma, Kebabs, dips and salads. Mazza boasts one of the largest selections of Middle Eastern beer and wine in the United States. When I go with a group of 4-6, we order one or two entrees for the table, then order a smorgasbord of appetizers (4 sampler appetizer plates for $14 - we go for 8 different apps total), and dig in family style. Top it off with a Sazerac, and call it a night!

The coffee is good and there's a huge selection of white, green and black teas to choose from. The scones are great, creamy creations, but they also offer an array of other baked goods, including the recent addition of surprisingly good wheat-free muffins. For lunch or snacks, you can choose house-made quiche, baguette sandwiches, and potato or pasta salads. And there are tons of gorgeous desserts. This bright, casual, trendy cafe is a melting pot of Salt Lake's diverse east-siders. I definitely recommend people watching - the place is always buzzing.

Pago is an intimate, farm-to-table restaurant serving amazing food at a slightly elevated price point compared to your average SLC restaurant, go figure. They've got a great little patio for summer evening dining and an extensive wine list. Breakfasts are amazing too!

Tulie Bakery a block away and should definitely be visited! They're all about pure, high quality ingredients and it's obvious. They make wonderful croissants and many other morning pastries, cakes, cookies, tarts, as well as hot-pressed sandwiches, seasonal soups, and salads. Also, specialty coffee and espresso from a local roaster. Reminds me of a tiny French bakery/cafe because everything they make is so beautiful, so well done, and very delicious.

One of the most popular breakfast joints in town, delicious food, and pretty close by! There will probably be a bit of a wait, but if it's a weekend and you're wanting brunch, there will be a bit of a wait almost anywhere!

Why would I recommend a restaurant more than a couple miles away? Because it's the best, best, best. If you like Mexican (Oaxan to be specific!), DO NOT miss this place. They're famous for their moles, they win awards year after year, and from the looks of it, you'd never expect it (those places are always the best!). There's now a Red Iguana 2 around the corner - just as good. You'll probably have a wait but it's worth it. Breakfasts are amazing (try the Huevos Motulenos or Chilaquiles) and our favorite dinner dish is the Mole Amarillo if you like a bit of spice. Ask for a mole sampler if you aren't familiar with mole so you can sample before you decide what to order.
