Food scene

Easily the best pub in Ottawa, if not Canada. An unpretentious pub-meets-oyster-bar with an insanely good kitchen. Tuesday is fried chicken night, and it’s insanely good. 🍗

Easily the best cocktail bar in Canada, and the manager, Quinn, has won national competitions. Also a top-shelf tapas bar. Ain’t cheap, but it’s exquisite.

This is the pizza place of your dreams, and is better than anything I’ve ever eaten in the entire world (pilot, remember?). Here’s a pizza hack: get the margherita and their house salad. Dump the salad ON THE PIZZA. Drizzle in their spicy oil. Divide and celebrate.

The local dive of your dreams. Perfect comfort food, a killer beer list, and the kindest staff on the planet. I’ve regularly eaten two meals here in a day, the weekend brunch is ridiculous, and possibly the best Caesar in Canada. Go!

LRT FTW

For 3.50 the LRT is an amazing way to get downtown and back. Walk a block to the station, then five minutes and you’ll pop up in the middle of the Market. Only one line, fast and a fun jaunt if you just want to ride.
