Hike down to the Brickworks (about 10 min walk) for the Saturday (& a slightly smaller sunday version) Farmers Market. Bring your skates in the winter, ride your bike through the trails in the warmer months. Great family outing.

Neighbourhood sports bar with good food and friendly service. NOT FOR PEANUT SENSITIVE PEOPLE!! There is a barrel filled with peanuts at the entrance to munch on at the tables; sign tells you to wipe your feet before you leave (to get the peanut shells off your feet! They're everywhere...)
Sounds crazy, but it's a great place! Kid friendly.
