Sightseeing
Glacier National Park is stunning! Going-to-the-Sun Road takes you to Logan Pass visitor center and an incredible view. We often see mountain goats or big horn sheep in this area. Our favorite hike is the Hidden Lake lookout, straight out the back of the visitor center. A red bus tour is fun because you avoid driving (which prevents you from sightseeing) and they provide a lot of GNP history along the way. (Please look at the Glacier National Park website to determine when it is running.) Downtown Whitefish has delightful dining, shopping and live music.
Even when it rains there are fun and interesting things to do! Ideas include:
Take a driving tour of the Moiese Bison Range.
Visit the Conrad Historical Mansion and Hockaday Art Museum (check hours of operation)
Stroll the shops, galleries and restaurants in Whitefish or Bigfork.
Take a scenic drive around Flathead Lake and stop in at State Park campgrounds or beaches
Drive the North Fork Road up to the quaint town of Polebridge and buy from their yummy bakery!
