Talbot Forest Scenic Reserve

Beautiful waterfall and nice 45 minute walk to get to it. Moderate fitness required. One of our favourite walks and the track entrance is just a short walk up Lookout Road from The Lookout.

Another of our favourite walks, to the Bigger Tree (than the Big Tree walk). This tree they say is around 1100 years old. It is marvellous, and is only a 10 minute or so walk from the Blandswood Road entrance. The loop track takes around 45 minutes and you'll see many ancient trees, Kereru grazing in the undergrowth or tree tops. It's fabulous and is flat and easy (but not good for strollers due to tree roots / rocks etc.

A beautiful little town, 20 minutes drive away. Lots of boutique shops, cafes and restaurants. A museum, edible trail, and plenty of other things to do. Very friendly community.
