Porth beach
This is the beach at the bottom of the road about a third of a mile from the house. There is a pub (The Mermaid) on the beach and several other places selling food and ice cream overlooking the beach itself.
You can walk along the coast path from Crantock to Holywell and on to Perranporth. It’s huge beach but there are no facilities or shops close by although there is a pub not too far away.

This is a very popular beach about 8 miles from Newquay. There is a pub on the beach called The Watering Hole which has been close to disappearing in the storms several times. There is a natural Lido in the rocks.

Newquay beaches
There are many beaches in Newquay including Fistral beach where the surf is claimed to be among the best in the land. Towan beach is in the town centre. Both are dog friendly all year round and both have food and drink options so you can stay all day. Other beaches in walking distance include Lusty Glaze, Tolcarne, Great Western and Whipsiderry. The access to some of the beaches can be quite steep but I can advise accordingly if you need details.

There are a lot of bars and places to eat in Newquay. They are mostly locally owned rather than the big chains although you will find Wetherspoons and Pizza Express among a few of the well known establishments. There are slot machines and ice cream places but most people flock to Newquay for the beaches rather than the town.
