Tobermory is a quaint but bustling little village on the harbour at the tip of the Bruce Peninsula. It is about a 20 min. drive north on Hwy 6 from Jake's cottages.
The village is host to some yummy restaurants, lovely little shops, fun activities such as kayak rentals, paddle board rentals, tour boats etc. It also has a grocery store, liquor store, bank, post office etc.

Flowerpot Island is an island in Georgian Bay and is a part of Fathom Five National Marine Park. The island spans 2.1 kilometres from east to west, and 1.5 kilometres from north to south, and has a total area of 2 square kilometres. You can book a reservation with a local tour boat company to get to the island. The island is famous for its natural "flowerpot" rock pillars, caves, historic light station and rare plants.

The island spans 2.1 kilometres from east to west, and 1.5 kilometres from north to south, and has a total area of 2 square kilometres. You can book a reservation with a local tour boat company to get to the island. The island is famous for its natural "flowerpot" rock pillars, caves, historic light station and rare plants.
Parking for this area is on a first come first serve basis until the parking lot is full. It's a beautiful place to picnic, swim, hike along Georgian Bay! There is a paid parking lot.

Singing Sands beach and trails is on the Lake Huron side of the Peninsula, located about 10 km. south of Tobermory, about a 20 min. drive from Jake's cottages. This offers a small, ungroomed beach and picnic area. There is also a short boardwalk and trail that passes through rare fen and dune ecosystems, which are home to four species of carnivorous plants, orchids and rare plants found only in the Great Lakes region.
There is a paid parking lot at Singing Sands.
