The Granite Hot Springs Pool is located at the end of the Granite Creek Road, north of Pinedale, Wyoming off of Highway 189. It is a developed, concrete hot spring pool situated alongside Granite Creek amongst huge spruce, fir and pine forest. A fee is charged for soaking in the springs. Facilities include a bathroom, picnic tables, and several informational kiosks. No potable water is available, and no alcohol is allowed in the hot springs. The parking area can accommodate trailers, but road can be rough in inclement weather. No cellular service is available. Driving time from Pinedale is approximately 1 hour.
The Granite Hot Springs Pool is located at the end of the Granite Creek Road and is situated just above Granite Creek Falls. If you aren't camping in the area, be prepared for a long scenic drive to the pool on a bumpy dirt road. No alcohol is allowed in the pool area to protect public safety, prevent drinking and driving, and preserve the family-friendly character of this special place. Please respect the no alcohol rule and plan accordingly.

The challenge is weeding through all the online and hardcopy information to find the best hikes -- the trails that take you above timberline to beautiful mountain lakes nestled in dramatic cirques, to passes with see forever views and to glorious alpine meadows filled with wildflowers.
14.6 miles Northeast of Pinedale, Wyoming
Green River Lake Trailhead
This trailhead is located just off the northwest shore of of the scenic Green River Lake. It offers two large parking areas for backpackers and equestrians, corrals, potable water and toilet facilities. Multiple trails are accessible from this location, including the Highline Trail, which is part of the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail, the Clear Creek Trail, and the Roaring Fork Trail. The trailhead is adjacent to the Green River Lakes Campground.
To reach the trailhead from Pinedale, drive 7 miles west on US Highway 191, turn right (north) on Wyoming Highway 352 and drive north to the National Forest boundary where the pavement ends (about 30 miles). Continue north on Forest Road 600, staying on the right side of the river. After 17 miles the road terminates at the campground and trailhead.

Multiple trails are accessible from this location, including the Highline Trail, which is part of the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail, the Clear Creek Trail, and the Roaring Fork Trail. The trailhead is adjacent to the Green River Lakes Campground.
To reach the trailhead from Pinedale, drive 7 miles west on US Highway 191, turn right (north) on Wyoming Highway 352 and drive north to the National Forest boundary where the pavement ends (about 30 miles). Continue north on Forest Road 600, staying on the right side of the river. After 17 miles the road terminates at the campground and trailhead.

For several weeks each October, the Green River Drift, one of the longest (and longest-running) cattle drives in the nation, takes place when cowboys on horseback push livestock back from their summer range in this valleys back home to their working ranches, a distance of about 70 miles. Visitors may catch a glimpse of the HWY 352 from the Green River Lakes to observe this present-day historical phenomenon from the highway.

Brown trout, brook trout, rainbows, whitefish, and Mackinaw (lake trout) await the angler on this jewel of Wind River Mountain lake. A National Forest boat launch and campground provide picnic tables, bathrooms, fire grates, and refuse containers. Water activities include canoeing, water skiing, and personal watercraft.
Beyond Half Moon Lake Resort, the Half Moon Lake Trailhead at the end of the dirt road is the starting point for a variety of hiking adventures, from an hour’s stroll or day hike to strenuous backpacking into the high country. Adventurers may want to explore the inlet territory above the northeast corner of the lake, where Pole Creek spills down from Fayette Lake via a small waterfall. There is no bridge crossing this stream, so if you choose to pass, be prepared to get wet or cross carefully on horseback.
