This is a private garden open to the public for a limited number of weeks each year. The gardens and statuary are exquisite beyond words.

Gardens open to public

This is a serene and beautiful Japanese garden that is open to the public. Especially lovely in Spring when the azaleas are in bloom, but beautiful at any time of year. It is located in a beautiful village on the island, across from the Asticou Inn, which is lovely for dining. Nearby to wonderful hikes, and views of Northeast Harbor. Also near to the village of Northeast Harbor, and sweet town with a few nice galleries and shops, and close to Seal Harbor (more gorgeous hikes, architecture, and a nice little beach!)

Restaurant/pub

My personal favorite "go to". Lovely outdoor seating area in a garden setting with red umbrellas, little white string lights, outdoor heaters when needed, a consistently good and varied menu, and a bar. Even soft live music sometimes. The owner and staff are wonderful. Located right in downtown Bar Harbor. Lovely to take in the Shore Path and shops before or after dinner.
