Sightseeing

About a mile down the SW Coastal Path (continue from Chapel Stile Field ) you come to Harbour Cove, locally known as Tregirls Beach. Fine golden sand at all states of the tide. Often you'll find your yourself almost alone, looking out to sea. Most visitors to Padstow don't make it this far, so even in the height of the Summer Season, this is our favourite beach. Grab a pasty and drink in the town and take a picnic. If it is windy you can hunker down in the lee of the sand dunes and watch the waves. Safe for families, but the tide can come in quite fast over the flat sands - like any tidal area, pay attention to the tide times. Tide times are posted in the window of the harbour master's office in Padstow harbour. Take a different route back to town via Tregirls Farm - there is a fantastic view from the hill top over the bay.

Drinks

If you a partial to a glass of wine or a shot of gin, 17 Duke Street is amongst several establishments in the town that are worth a visit. Using locally grown barley (from the fields above the town), David distills his own gin in small batches. It comes in two strengths and multiple flavours. Our current favourite is the Navy Strength - just one shot is normally sufficient! In addition, David is one of the town's most knowledgeable wine merchants, always stocking both interesting and popular wines from around the world. You can book a booth for a drink or take away.
