Public transit or ride share?
It's hit and miss due to pandemic rollbacks and ongoing construction. We'd recommend ride share services to get there quick.

Is DC safe?
We have lived in DC for 11+ years and have never had an issue with break-ins, mugging, etc. Having said that, it is still a city and you should keep your wits about you. Keep phones and valuables in your pockets, do not walk anywhere alone, and be generally aware of your surroundings.
