This is a fave of mine, personally. The quail fried chicken over mac and cheese waffle with maple tabasco is to die for. This place may seem really simple, but it is DELICIOUS. Try to go during the happy hour menu, where things are very reasonably priced.
Hip nook with a farmhouse motif & an indoor/outdoor bar, plus inventive comfort food & daily brunch.

Best chargrilled oysters in town. Don’t be fooled by other places. Spend your money at the right place. Best roast beef po boy too! Wait in line for a table (get there early and avoid peak dining times for lunch and dinner; try like 3 pm on a weekday) or try to nab a spot at the bar. The bar is preferable, anyway.

BEST PO BOY IN TOWN! Get the buffalo shrimp one. And ask for extra mayo. OMG. I could eat here for dayssssss. Don't forget a side of fries. Eat at the bar, not in the back. Yes, it's a bar. At first, the atmosphere may seem strange, but settle in. This is NOLA--of course one of the best, hidden spots for food is in a bar ;) It's a local's spot and everyone is really nice. Strike up a conversation with someone next to you. Ask to try a local beer.

Delicious and unexpected spot. Dine upstairs and you can see the whole city really well. Get the Crab, Spinach, & Artichoke Dip and the calamari. The filet there is divine and the brussels are done just right! Have a drink and an appetizer there, if you want to have dinner elsewhere!
