I-Castle Of The Livonian Order In Sigulda

Built in 1207 as a castellum type fortress, later rebuilt into a convent type building. From 2012 it is possible to climb up the North Tower, the Main Gate Tower and enjoy the medieval aura. You can even enjoy medieval-style lunch or dinner there!

Turaida Castle

Turaida Museum Reserve is a cultural heritage site. This majestic medieval castle stands on the opposite bank of Gauja River from Sigulda with the 42 hectares of historical and archaeologicalgrounds. It was built in 1214 by Livonian Brothers of the Sword. The main Tower offers the perfect opportunity to take pictures of Latvia’s uniquely beautiful wilderness.
