The best Italian hidden away in a little village called Moniave. Again this is about a half hour or so drive away but it’s definitely worth it! Perfect for a romantic meal for two or a group! Booking is usually essential.

We are only 2 miles from the activity centre, it’s perfect for a family day out but also offers outdoor activities for groups or couples. A real gem - check out the website for details on the all the activities they offer!

Sightseeing
Culzean Castle and Croy beach is one of our favourites! It’s a great place to take the kids and / or the dog! There is a cafe which makes it handy for grabbing a coffee or a snack.
This is just over an hours drive away and there is an entry fee.

Threave Garden
Beautiful gardens, lovely cafe and only 20 minutes away!
Walking/hiking
This is a wonderful hike, 797m high meaning incredible views. Just under 8 miles, it’s pretty steep in places so walking boots are required! Signage isn’t the best, if you fancy climbing it let me know and I’m happy to give directions. Only suitable for very fit dogs.

A nice local walk just outside of Dalry. The walk takes you through forestry before opening up at a beautiful Loch. Directions are not that well sign posted but I’m happy to give you some should you wish to go.

Castle Douglas is a lovely little town with lots of nice independent shops and cafes. A great place to have a wander.
There is also a Tesco and Co op making it handy for picking up essentials!

Kirkcudbright is a lovely little town with some great independent shops, it’s located right by the harbour so is ideal for a stroll. The fish and chip shop, Polar Bites, is wonderful!
