Food scene
This is one of our favorite little breakfast spots. They haven’t fully opened inside again yet, but there’s a pick up window and beautiful outdoor space with tables. The pastries and bread (especially the baguette) and drinks are terrific.

Italian, but not at all typical. Fresh and local ingredients. It’s divine. Right in the middle of downtown, 15-20 min walk from the house and there’s also a parking garage right across the street.

Amazing place for cocktails and oysters or other various starters. Dinner can be pricey, but all of the food is amazing here. Their wine bar (Leo’s) is also great.

Casual dining, great pizza with local toppings and stone ground flour from local wheat. Terrific for full families. Huge field with picnic tables where kids can run. Different style of pizza- thin and lighter and more moist- it’s not for everyone, but locals love it and it’s been written up in The NY Times several times.

Galleries, restaurants, the graffiti Mecca, all connected by a terrific new pathway all along the River to Carrier park. This walkway actually connects right at the bottom of Hill Street at Southern States all the way to Carrier. We walk down the hill and walk, run and bike this path all the time. It goes past (or near) many restaurants and places to grab coffee. You can also park at one of the parking lots and walk from there. Highly recommended.

All the shops, restaurants, breweries and wine bars you could want! Locals go downtown, but parking can be tricky so we often stick to outer areas when it’s super busy. Downtown is walkable for us (from the house), so we certainly go more often. And the whole downtown is very walkable.
