Family Fun
Family-fun entertainment, everything for kids to enjoy that parents will, too.
The alpine slide is one of 5 awesome attractions at this Big Bear Park, just a couple of minutes from the lake and Village. From mini golf & go-karts to the Alpine Slide, to the MINESHAFT roller coaster & SOARING EAGLE hang gliding experience, plan on spending a half-day or more here. It’s fun for the family and add in the water slides (bring your bathing suits AND towels) & you’ll be sure to tire the kids out, too. There are some height restrictions, kids under 42” especially, so give them a call if you want to get the info ahead of time

Local Crafts & Framing
This place has a lot of fun treasures AND they did an awesome job framing some of the local artists work featured in our cabin.
Tulip Lane
1141 W Big Bear BlvdThe folks here are awesome and each of them either has their work on the walls or is married to someone who does. The owner, Michael, is one of the featured artists and is the photographer behind the COVID-era slopes picture downstairs and the giant snow-covered lake picture in our cabins living room. The two continuous-sketch water colors in the living room are from Emily, who also runs the gallery’s social media. Go in and look or buy - there’s a ton of great art and the folks there are super cool.

Healthy Eating
This juice bar in the Stater Bros shopping center has all the healthy offerings you’d find in LA, SD, SF, PS & the Beach Cities. Their avocado toast is great, they have a wide selection of juices and açaí and smoothies, and the team that works there are super sweet.

Dank Donuts is the highest donut shop on the west coast, & they mean that in every sense of the word. Not to worry, they always get your order right, and they feature vegan and gluten free donuts, they have nitro cold brew AND GTs Kombucha on tap, and their breakfast burrito is incredible.

Snow Summit is one of the two resorts less than ten minutes from our cabin and part of the IKON pass.
Both are great for kids and for families, and Snow Summit has an epic snowboard park too.
Lessons through the resort are great for kids of all ages and the instructors are all really kind, patient and knowledgeable.

Get your gear the night before!
When skiing or boarding Bear Mountain or Snow Summit, we strongly recommend getting your gear the night before your first day of skiing. And while it might sound easier to get your rentals at the resorts, the lines take around an hour. Try one of the great shops like Blauer for a speedy and expert experience, instead.

Big Bear Take Out
For those of us slightly dependent on Postmates/Uber Eats, Moonridge is ONLY serviced by Big Bear Takeout. And while it’s not an app, the site is pretty user friendly and features @ least 8 of Big Bears great restaurants. Heads up to order by 9 as many places close early.
