Nestling at the mouth of the Garavogue river, Sligo has been immortalised through the poetry of one of its most famous sons W.B. Yeats. there is lots to see and do in the town. check out the Model, Yeats Society, Sligo Abbey and Sligo County Museum. Travelling a few miles outside town you can visit Lissadell House, Drumcliffe Church, Knocknarea (Queen Maeves Cairn) and Carrowmore Megalithic Cemetary.
