Crystal mountain is only 4 miles away and there in the summer you can go to the pool/water park for a daily pass fee. Buy on line normally cheaper. As well as I think they do a gondola ride up to mountain and you can do the big long slide down the mountain so if you go to Crystal mountain in Thompsonville website you can see how that stuff and buy the online passes, they have a legacy Park where you can walk I believe with your dog around the mountain and they have like artwork nice walk, go to beautiful Frankfort on lake Michigan great beach there is only about 20 25 minutes away.

Only 4 miles away is The iron fish distillery and restaurant which is actually just across the river but you can drive around to it they do allow dogs as well and it is a distillery where they make different things but they also have pretty good food I'm told. Definitely go to the sleeping Bear sand dunes climbing the mountain of sand, go as far to the lake as you can and bring a water bottle. The view up there is beautiful and they do allow dogs most places, also Crystal lake is only 20 minutes to a nice public beach and beautiful water and a fun little town with more great restaurants.

If you like light houses just north of Frankfort is Betsie lighthouse which you can walk up too. Great picture spot on lake Michigan and Frankfort has some shopping and great restaurants. 35 minutes to Traverse City there's a great Beach there right on Traverse Bay crystal clear water lots of sand, dogs welcome then across from the water, Walking downtown Traverse along the river is really pretty, some fun shopping and a lot of the businesses have water out for dogs along the front Street stores and of course great food.

climb the sleeping bear sand dunes but don't go down the other side to the lake because if you can't get back up because it's very steep there is a rescue fee to bring you around but as long as you climb up and come back down the same side you'll be fine and the view from the top is amazing
