Walking in the city center is the most convenient but taxi fees are just 20 Cordobas per person per way should you need to take one.

Withdraw dollars and not cordobas from ATM
The bank currency exchange is lower than in any other place so you better withdraw dollars from the ATM and exchange it somewhere else. Dollars are widely accepted in most places (not $100 bills though) and you can get the change in cordobas at a good exchange rate.
