My favorite dinner places
Great place for dinner across from Newbury Harbor. Bubba's is a local favorite with great views of the lake. Super selection of drinks at the bar, good grilled food as well as pizza options. Also open for brunch on weekends. Particularly love the heating stove! 5 mins drive.

My favorite brunch places
Tucker's is one of our favorite breakfast/brunch places. It is in New London about 10-15 mins drive from our place. Wait can be long sometimes, but you can call ahead and they will place you on the list.

Claremont country cafe is a favorite of ours. It is a welcoming diner in the true New Hampshire tradition. Their ham omelette, onion rings, and local bread is amazing.

My favorite hikes
There are lots of lovely hiking areas near our house, but one of our favorites is the John Hay national wildlife refuge, which is barely 4 minutes driving distance from our house on Rt. 103A. The refuge abuts our property, but the official entrance to the hiking area on Rt. 103A on the right.
This is one of our favorite hikes as you can climb all the way up for a nice view. The hike is particularly spectacular in the fall when the leaves are turning color.
The hiking trail start exactly opposite the Fells Historic Estate. As you walk or drive down Rollins road, turn right onto 103A, and you will soon see the Fells estate on your left within about 1 mile. The trail head is opposite Fells Estate across the Rt. 103A road.

Great hiking all the way to the top of Mt. Kearsarge.
In general, there are dozens of wonderful hiking places close to our house in New Hampshire.
The photo shows just another example of what a typical hike might look like with brooks and mountain views.
