Outdoor activity

Plan to get dirty and bring home some lovely crystals! Wear old clothes, sturdy shoes, and gloves and bring some digging tools. Water, snacks or pack a lunch and enjoy the day! Dig your own crystals in this working mine. Don't forgot your hat and sunscreen. Recommended to do during cooler months.

Walking and biking are great for getting to many places.

You will see walkers, runners and bikers taking advantage of Whittington Park. Downtown restaurants and local shops are within walking and biking distance. Hot Springs Creek Greenway begins about 1.5 miles from the cottage and is fairly flat paved surface. Bicycle rentals are available at Parkside Cycle 501.623.6188 and Hot Springs Bicycle Touring Company 501.276.2175.

The hiking trails in Hot Springs National Park

You can pick up a map of the hiking trails at the National Park Visitors Center on Bathhouse Row. There are trail of all distances and can be combine to make some nice treks. Sunset Trail is a longer hike that goes along the ridges of 3 mountain with lovely views. Balanced Rock is on this trail and is considered by some to be a spiritual vortex (cross-points between energy fields in the earth's grid system). There is no water available along the trail so be sure to bring some.
