Rabbit Hash, Kentucky is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The town is notable for its name, its string of canine mayors, and its historic general store. In a world that seems to be changing constantly, the Rabbit Hash General Store is a heaping slice of Americana from another era. A working general store since 1831, the Rabbit Hash General Store is the heart of historic Rabbit Hash, a quaint little Northern Kentucky river-town whose fortunes literally have risen and fallen with the waters of the Ohio River. https://www.rabbithash.com/about-us.html

The MS Lucky Lady is a new, custom built, top-of-the-line ferry boat, made specifically for Rising Star. It is comprised of two components, the tug & the barge, which have been joined to make the MS Lucky Lady ferry boat. The tug boat was built in Bridge City, Texas & arrived in Cincinnati late last year. The barge component was built in Jacksonville, Florida & traveled up the Ohio River, making stops in Paducah & Louisville, Kentucky. Once in Louisville, Kentucky, the tug & barge were connected to become the completed ferry boat, MS Luck Lady. MS Lucky Lady then traveled the remaining miles up the Ohio River for her christening & arrival celebration in Rising Sun on Thursday, July 12, 2018. "The ferry boat will drive traffic to the beautiful towns of Rising Sun & Rabbit Hash, while providing more convenient access to our resort amenities, including gaming, dining, golf, our hotels & RV Park along with our remodeled Pavilion," said Ben Douglass, General Manager of Rising Star Casino Resort. A ferry operated between Rising Sun & Rabbit Hash from the early 1800's until 1948 when it was one of many ferries along the Ohio River, most of which have been replaced by bridges. Rising Sun & Rabbit Hash, however, are only 2,000 feet apart, but 26 miles from the airport. Rising Star's MS Lucky Lady brings these two neighboring communities back together. For residents of Indiana, the new ferry offers a convenient shortcut to the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, as well as to the malls & businesses in Florence, Kentucky. For Kentucky residents, the ferry provides easy access to the Rising Star Casino Resort & the historical town of Rising Sun.
