Huelva
One of the towns in Huelva that is well worth a visit is Moguer, the historic birthplace of Juan Ramón Jiménez and a quintessential 'Columbian place'.
Moguer as a whole was declared a Site of Cultural Interest of Columbian Places, due to its relevance in the first voyage of Columbus. But, in addition, part of the municipality is within the Doñana National Park, which gives the town a very important natural heritage.
Being the birthplace of Nobel Prize winner Juan Ramón Jiménez, Moguer is also part of the BIC of Juanramonian Places, and the writer and his character Platero are present in much of Moguer life.

If you have always been fascinated by the Discovery of America and the people who carried it out, the city of Palos de la Frontera, belonging to the Andalusian province of Huelva, will undoubtedly be your favorite destination. Small and humble ―in 2018 its census showed only 11,000 inhabitants―; and located less than 15 kilometers from Huelva capital, Palos de la Frontera represents the most important stop within the so-called Route of the Columbian Places, an exciting journey through the places that Christopher Columbus stepped on before leaving for the New World. The Rábida monastery, the Pinzón house-museum, the church of San Jorge or La Fontanilla are some of these places of great historical-artistic interest. In addition, the city is very close to other interesting places, such as the beaches of Mazagón or the Celestino Mutis Botanical Park.

Long and wide beach, with fine sand and remains of shells, which extends from the breakwater of the Mazagón marina, at the mouth of the Huelva estuary, to the beginning of the Parador beach, although, in reality, both are next to each other. Matalascañas and Doñana constitute a unit with more than 50 km of coastline.
