If you are planning on making meals at the house rather than eating out, I would recommend you buy some shopping before you arrive on Skye. We have one co-op supermarket in Portree which can be quiet expensive and during the summer months the shelves are not always full.

If you plan to eat out I would recommend booking in advance. Restaurants get very busy during the summer months and often cannot accommodate walk ins.

Please be mindful of other drivers when travelling on single track roads. If you see a queue of traffic building behind you it is courteous to pull into a safe place to let the traffic past you. This also applies to main roads - if you are travelling below the average sped on a road which does not allow for safe overtaking, it would be good manners to pull into a layby to allow the traffic past.
