No visit to Portland is complete without a visit to Portland Bill and Lighthouse. 5 minutes by car, jump on the open top bus or walk the coastal path approximately 3 miles. Portland Bill is the graveyard of many vessels that failed to reach Weymouth or Portland Roads. From the shore, you can see the Portland Race, a meeting of the tides that causes a continuous disturbance. Don't forget to stop for a Dorset cream tea at the Lobster Pot.
