This hike is highly rewarding considering it is only 1-mile round trip. The climb does start at high elevation so expect to be tired and take your time. It is a tourist favorite because of the immensely rewarding views with such a short hike. This is about 25 minutes from the cabin and still in Idaho Springs.

This amazing gold mine tour will bring you back to the late 1800s to 1943 when the mine shutdown. The history and tour are quite fascinating, and they even let you mine for gold at the end. Better yet, it is about a mile from the house and affordable.

The town of breck has a large array of shops, restaurants, art galleries and pups. Breck is definitley worth visiting even if you do not ski or snowboard. It is a great place to spend the day and about an hour drive from the cabin.

This is another exciting mine tour in Idaho Springs. The mine can be seen to the left when travelling west on I70 at about exit 240 or fall river road exit. This tour is exciting and gives a new perspective opposed to the argo mine tour.

Book a reservation in advance or you may be turned around at the entrance.

Hands down one of my favorite Colorado classics. Garden of the Gods never disappoints and there is no hike in! Visiting the Garden of the Gods is always worth the drive. You can easily explore Colorado Springs which is adjacent to these impressive towering rocks.

Even if you don't still go. You will not be disappointed as artists only bring their absolute best to Red Rocks. Also, the views do not disappoint, and the park offers various trails and hikes.
