Bourton-on-the-Water is about a 25 minute drive away and has Birdland Wildlife Park set on the River Windrush with a Jurassic journey with 30 life sized dinosaurs! The miniature village is also really fun for kids, as is the Cotswold Motoring Museum – great wet weather option. Also, just having an ice cream by the river is so lovely, there are also lots of great pubs.

Montpellier Gardens has a fantastic little playground and is the closest park to the cottage. It’s perfect for toddlers and a large flat area where children can ride bikes and scooters safely and in sight. There’s also a BMX/scotter/bike ramp for older children. Great little café too with nice coffees, cakes and ice creams. Toilets on site.

Hatherley Park is slightly further away (20 minutes) but free parking if needed. There’s a beautiful lake with ducks you can feed, an enclosed playground suitable for toddlers and older children, great for walks to peruse the many plants and The Butterfly Box pop up café is a total winner for coffee, homemade baked treats and ice creams. This is the most picturesque park in Cheltenham and consistently wins the Green Flag award. No toilets on site.
