The next closest town, Aurora is larger than Rising Sun and has more to offer. It's about 15 minute trip, but is great to walk around for a day and see the shops and window murals.

Lawrenceburg is the "largest" of the three river towns in this lineup. It's the farthest east before getting to the highway. In order of proximity AND size...Rising Sun is close and small, Aurora is in the middle on both fronts, and Lawrenceburg is largest and farthest. about 25 to 30 min.
