The Kal-Haven Trail is a 33.5 mile linear multiple-use trail that links South Haven to Kalamazoo.
The Kal-Haven Trail is built on the abandoned Kalamazoo & South Haven Railroad route that existed from 1870 to 1970. The railroad bed has been converted to a trail with a limestone/slag surface and is suitable for non-motorized bicycles, hiking, and snowmobiling. Geocaching is permitted along the trail.

Beaches
A favorite of mine and a 5 min. walk from the cottage. Less crowded than most beaches, you can walk for miles in either direction and if you want to find beach glass, petosky stones, lighting stones, crinoids, etc... walk north, and you will find them.
