Lakes!
We have so many lakes around Kalispell. To the south is the largest fresh water lake west of the Mississippi River, Flathead Lake. There is public access from Somers or Lakeside has the beautiful Volunteer Park.
Another lake is Foys, glacial fed and warmer in the summer. You go west of town and it is the most beautiful color in the early Summer.
Whitefish has a nice public beach and it is a fun town to shop.

Huckleberry Picking
From mid-July to early August the Hucks are out. An easy place to pick your own is at Whitefish Mountain Resort. If you hike up under Chair 1, or the Danny On Trail, you should find them! There are also stands to buy them from in Columbia Falls.
