The cottage is situated on the Lower Mill Estate, a private 500 acre nature reserve within the area known as the Cotswold Water Park due to its number of lakes. It is a conveniant location to explore the surrounding Cotswolds, with not only countryside and water sports on your doorstep but also cities and towns such as Cheltenham, Gloucester, Bath, Bristol and Oxford all accessible with good road links and a train station four miles away.
Historic buildings such as Sudeley Castle (home to three queens of the Tudor period), Blenheim Palace, and Chavenage House (as seen on BBC’s Poldark) are close by including the Highgrove Royal Gardens.
Many well known events take place throughout the year are nearby such as the Cheltenham Festival, The Battle Proms Concert and the Royal International Air Tattoo in Fairford.

They team at the Activity Hub also organise activities for adults, children and families both on the water and off. There are three tennis courts and one MUGA court you are welcome to use at no extra charge during your stay. Just pop your name on the booking sheet on the court's door.

There are four pools you are welcome to use during your stay, all are just a few minutes walk from the cottage. Three are heated pools, one indoor, two outdoor, and there is also an eco plunge pool too. If wild swimming is more your thing you are welcome to swim in our lakes too.

At the onsite Spa individual treatments are bookable from facials and body massages, to manicures (charges apply) and we would recommend booking these ahead of your stay to ensure availability for your dates.

The Miss Mouse Trail encourages children to learn about nature as they go on a hunt around the nature reserve. The trail is organised by the Activity Hub where maps can be collected and the trail starts at Mill Lake just opposite the cottage.

Ballihoo is a five minute walk from the cottage and open for coffee, breakfast, cakes, lunch, dinner and cocktails. Booking ahead is advised.

Open from Friday to Sunday, lunch to dinner, is the wood fired pizza shack. You can take your pizza back to the cottage or on a picnic beside the lakes.
