City/town information

Edinburgh has so much to offer to both visitors and residents alike! It was recently voted the best city in the world by Time Out. I'd advise anyone to first take a City Tour on a bus to see the whole city - you can then plan where you'd like to go back to! Princes Street gardens in the heart of the city and beneath the castle is a little haven of peace and green space. The castle, Royal Mile, Greyfriars Bobby statue, Holyrood palace, Arthur's Seat, The Meadows are just scratching the surface of what Edinburgh has to offer!

You don't need a car in Edinburgh!

There is a bus stop right outside our home. Buses literally will take you all around the city and beyond. Get the app. Trams run to and from the airport and run the length of Princes Street Waverley and Haymarket are the nearest train stations Taxis and Uber are plentiful in Edinburgh Car parking is metered on the street outside our home but an alternative is to search for nearby private spaces on parkopedia online.

Kilts and bagpipes!

As Scots we don't normally wear kilts unless its a special occasion such as a wedding or a sporting event - when Scotland need all the support they can get! During the summer you will often hear bagpipes being played on Princes street by buskers.

Restaurants are best booked ahead of time to avoid disapointment All city attractions are best booked in advance Festival events get booked up quickly so check out what you want to see and plam ahead. Children are most welcome!

All public transport have spaces for baby stollers. The city is quite hilly and many of the streets are cobbled so a sturdy baby stroller is recommended :)
