World famous Betty’s Tearoom is the perfect treat for anyone wanting top class food, top class service and a touch of luxury. If you’ve never been then it’s a real treat.

It’s a bit of a drive out but this is the best place anywhere in Yorkshire for traditional farm produce and locally produced food. This is by no way the cheapest place to buy food but if your after something special then go and treat yourself. This is not your average supermarket!

The nature reserve runs right from the doorstep of the boat so why not take a walk through the woods to the garden enclosure at Hirst locks then take a steady walk back along the river and home in time for tea about 2 hours taking it nice and steady

Just outside Hebden bridge so about 45 minutes drive from the boat. Plenty of parking available (pay and display not cheap) then a steady walk through the stunning woodland to Gibsons Mill where you can get a spot of lunch and a coffee. The mill is fully off grid and makes all its own power and there’s a visitor centre to show you how it’s done !

If you take a walk to see the famous Bingley Five Rise locks then chances are you will need a pot of tea and and some lunch so this is the perfect stop once you get there.
