Neighbourhoods
Our neighbourhood is in a residential area, but with quick and easy access to the more commercial areas of Kitsilano. Within a few minutes, you are on West Broadway, full of shopping and restaurants, and a 20 minute walk to the beach. We are the link between downtown Vancouver and UBC. There are loads of trees and well-maintained gardens. Whether you want to catch the changing of the fall leaves or the confetti-like sidewalks of the cherry blossoms, our neighbourhood is a taste of nature in the city.
Kitsilano is a popular part of the city for everyone from students, because of its proximity to UBC, to families and retirees. It’s bordered on the north by English Bay, so there are lots of beaches, from Kitsilano Beach with its large saltwater pool to Jericho Beach and Spanish Banks. There are plenty of smaller beaches too, which are accessible by stairs, where many locals gather to hang out, and kids run out into the low tide searching for shells and crabs.
Popular shopping streets are West Broadway, which is also known as Greek Town, as there were many Greek families (including mine!) that settled around here. You'll find a few Greek restaurants and mediterranean markets. The other popular area is 4th Avenue. Here, you'll find more bars, restaurants and shops. They tend to be trendier and higher-end around here. The original Lululemon store is on 4th Avenue and Arbutus. If you head down the steep hill on Yew Street, you'll stumble onto another area full of restaurants and bars. Crossing Cornwall, you will find the beach!
One of our more enjoyable walks is taking Stephens down to Cornwall and west to Point Grey Road, where the street is only open to bikes and pedestrians. Enjoy a great walk by the beach mansions down to Hastings Mill Park and Museum, Vancouver's oldest building, and Jericho Beach.

Playgrounds are easy to find
Thankfully, Vancouver has plenty of green spaces and with them come playgrounds and spray parks. Our area has two parks nearby: Kitsilano has a playground, spray park and ice rink; Carnarvon has a bigger playground. If you want to walk down by the beach, Hastings Mill Park has a beautiful log playground as well as the Hastings Mill Museum, Vancouver's oldest building.

It rains in Vancouver. A LOT.
We provide our guests with umbrellas, but it's always a good idea to carry a rain jacket with you. The summer doesn't tend to have much rain, but you never know....

It's easy to get around with strollers
Most sidewalks have ramps to be order to get across the street and onto the sidewalk easily. Sidewalks are also wide enough to not have to give way to other pedestrians.
