Round town is safe
The route taxis are fastest but they drive reckless I wouldn’t recommend 8/10 times. Real authentic vibe in the neighborhood poor class middle class and upper class all rolled into one big melting pot. Be alert at all times and don’t share personal information with anyone. If you sound Jamaican u will get discounts and bargain or negotiate on street vending prices is key too. Pack slippers, sandals and tennis shoes/trainers. Leave the cold climate clothes at home it’s hot and humid here. Relax and unwind, you will be fine.
