Outdoor Activities
If planning to visit glacier national park in the summer, you will need a vehicle reservation in addition to your park pass to enter between 6am and 4pm.
If you are visiting before Going to the Sun Road is fully open to cars, consider taking bikes to ride the road!
Be prepared! The weather in Glacier can be much cooler than the weather in Whitefish. Pack layers and bear spray.

City Beach: The beach has both sand and shaded grass to enjoy! There is a swimming area, boat launch, and rental shop for paddleboards, etc.

You can drive directly to the lake and boat launch for fishing and lake activities. There is a small shaded area along the shore where you can sit and enjoy the views or fish. Beaver Lake is also on the Whitefish Trail System and has great biking and hiking.

Close to town trailhead with a 3 mile roundtrip hike to an overlook. Lion Mountain is part of the Whitefish Trail System, with miles of multi-use trails around Whitefish.
