Winnipeg's Pride
If you have one day in Winnipeg and can only go to a couple of places at most, The Forks is a must do.
From its history to its awesome food selection, from souvenirs shops to people watching, from River trail to boat rides - this is THE place to be.

This is my personal favorite place in Winnipeg, ok ok.. I am biased towards museums. But let me tell you, we have been to some of world's top museums - from Washington, to Cairo, from Dubai to New York - and our Human Rights Museum is of that class and quality.
Also, if you are a Harry Potter fan, the walking aisles here look like moving staircases of Hogwarts - so cool

Our Bombers are out of these world, at for past few years. Make sure to enjoy a game of CFL in the home town of Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Our home is literally walking distance from the field. On game days, crowd park for Free on our street, and walk to the stadium. You are in luck, just have a 12 minutes stroll and enjoy the game.

If you have more time in Winnipeg, rent a car and go to Gimli. About an hour north of Winnipeg, this little town has huge Icelandic history and great local shops / food scene.

You are in one of the best neighborhoods of Winnipeg. From our backyard doorstep, the trail takes you to many different trails.
Walking and cycling paths go as far as 10 KMs, and in all directions. You will cross bridges over river, next to lakes, quiet and peaceful - that was it is. ENJOY.

Food scene
This is a great local restaurant with many locations across Winnipeg. The Pembina locaiton is my fav, as it has roof top Patio, live music on one of the weekdays, and delicious food. Must Try.

Uber is best for Tourists, second only to a rental car.
Unlike New York, Toronto, Miami - Winnipeg is small city. Any direction its 20 minutes drive and you are in the outer skirts.
Having a rental car is best option for exploring the city - parking is Free at most places, and at other places Pay By Phone app works like magic. You are looking at less than $10 for parking, unlike over $35 that I once paid in downtown Calgary.
If you are not looking to drive, Uber is super easy and always available.

Winnipeg Art Gallery and Qaumajuq
One of the best art scenes in Canada. Among dozens of small art galleries in Exchange District, if you are into Art, DO NOT miss Winnipeg Art Gallery, and its newest edition (2021-2022) Qaumajuq has indigenous art.

Friendly Manitoba
Unlike Canada's large cities where people are always rushing and running, looking into their phones, in Winnipeg people have more time - we look at each other, say Hi, smile, offer help - like, good human beings. Enjoy Winnipeg's warmth - even in the middle of our Winters.

Snow boots and down jacket
If you are coming to us in Winters (Nov to April), do not underestimate the tales you have heard about Winnipeg's winters.
If you are a Canadian, ok - you are good. Still our February may test you.
If you are an international traveler, please ensure that from Nov to April, you will need good snow shoes (Merrell type with good tread) and down jacket.
Respect the nature (read Winter) and it will allow you to live. If in trouble, ask for help.
