This place is a wonderful cocktail bar not sure about the food but it’s a popular drinking spot. Cocktails here are very well made featuring the best ingredients but they range from $15-$25.

Sightseeing
A short flight from Hervey Bay and you can explore part of the lower Barrier Reef. Certain times of the year Manta Rays are common on the reef. We saw around 6-8 turtles while snorkelling. Your visit can be for the day or you can stay on the island.

During Whale season Hervey Bay is busy with visiting Whales. Often their calves are born in the bay. There are many companies offering trips to view the Whales we had a great trip with Tasman Adventure.

Maryborough has lots to see. Thursday is a good day to visit as the market is on and the old sugar cane train runs in the park. Lots of murals around town and a lovely war memorial in the park next to the river. Stop at the tourist office at the town hall for maps etc. Best cafe in town is Portside Cafe. The author of Mary Poppins lived here and her parents house is now a museum (used to be a bank).

Amazing toilets at the town hall with the walls all hand painted. Maryborough's Cistern Chapel is probably Australia's most colourful public toilet

Beach
7 kilometres of beach from Craignish to Dundowran. Shell hunters should head down towards the east end of the beach where the trees have fallen in to the sea. Ospreys can be found in the trees overlooking the beach. If you head west on Craignish beach you will reach the fresh water river where it runs in to the ocean, lots of smaller shells can be found in this area. The nearest beach entrance is a 5 min (2km) drive away. Picnic areas are provided along with toilets and fresh water showers. The tide goes out 1 km on the sand flats and leaves many pools of water. We suggest wearing water shoes as the sand is hard on your feet. There is a narrow sandy beach great for sunbathing.

Such a long and beautiful beach. You will find a nice coffee at the Serenity Cove Cafe. Lots of picnic and bbq areas along the seafront. Recommend you check out the estuary at Theodolite Creek Park for swimming.
