Home to Morehead State University, the downtown offers several options for dining and shopping. With a population of nearly 7000, the small town feel is definitely in place. Downtown is a 20 minute drive from the cabin. There are a couple of Dollar General stores that are a bit closer which can cover most of your essentials, but if you want a more complete grocery inventory, IGA on West Main Street will have what you need. Kroger and Walmart are a bit further just across I-64.

There are 12 boat ramps located around the lake and 2 marinas. The closest boat ramp to the cabin is the Bangor boat ramp. The Scott Creek marina offers day rental of pontoon boats and has on-site dining.

There meats are also available by the pound if you want to buy some on the way to the cabin to make a great meal once you get there. They also have hand-dipped ice cream.
