Nacho, the chef for Taco Temple, lives across the street. We may be biased, but we’ve tried several Mexican places and this one is always what we come back to as our favorite in Morro Bay! Experience some local flair with the seafood dishes like Baja Tacos or a crab cake taco, Make sure to try one of their deserts like the carrot cake or tres leches. If you’re at the right time, live music on their cozy patio admiring the Pacific Ocean can’t be beat.

Love Coffee? Dogs? How about omelets or pastries? Top Dawg coffee is a locally owned coffee and brunch shop that does tons of community work for non-profits benefiting our four-legged fur babies. Sometimes breakfast can be slow, but you HAVE TO GO TO THE BACK PATIO. This hidden gem is one of the cutest courtyards in Morro Bay, with old established trees and vines giving shade while you sip your morning coffee and enjoy a fresh muffin.

Shhhh! Don't let this secret get out. You'll feel weird driving through a golf course up the hillside, but drive slow and rest assured, there is a small parking area at the top. Panoramic views of the entire Morro Bay looking south at Los Osos will leave a lasting memory of the beauty of the central coast. Remember, early morning hikers, you may not get to see views. This is an EASY short trail to the top (.5 miles from parking), but take your time, and enjoy the views, smell the eucalyptus, and relax. If you want to explore further, past the water tower you can get great views southward toward Los Osos and the estuaries of Morro Bay.
