Saigon Foodies

This collection I made is for you, my beloved guests. The places I recommend here is my own personal favorite. I am not paid to advertise their places. Read the list and enjoy. I know it's long, but take time :)))
Little Hanoi Egg Coffee has an ancient, gentle, true Hanoi style with yellow-painted walls, a background, and bold tables and chairs. Every application is carefully edited, from pattern separators, black and white televisions, and cassette players to wall bookshelves. The egg coffee here has a traditional taste with the coffee base not too strong, quite medium to drink. The egg layer is whipped from fresh eggs, so when you drink it, it has a greasy taste and melts in your mouth. There are 2 types here, the original egg coffee and the egg coffee that comes with a crispy toasted sandwich, dotted with an egg layer. If you want to sip some cake while drinking coffee, egg coffee with a sandwich is the most popular choice. Address: -Location 1: Floor 3, 212 Le Lai Street, District 1 (with balcony) -Location 2: 119/5 Yersin Street, District 1yellow-painted

BE AWARE OF MOTORBIKE COWBOYS :((

Saigon is a city with a population of 10+ million people and 7+ million motorbikes. Walking around the city surrounding the bikes is a fun way to experience the authenticity of the city, especially crossing the road. But, BE AWARE that there are sometimes the thief will CATCH your phone while taking photos and/or carrying your small lady handbag on the street. It's sad and hurt. But it happens and I do not wish that would happen to my guests. ->Please pay extra attention by taking photos and carrying your lady handbag on the street, use a backpack instead.

CROSSING THE STREET

One thing you have to know for sure is that the bikes DON'T stop for you, even if sometimes you are on the pedestrian crosswalk when making the right/left turn. The experience is even more fun when you want to cross, but not on the pedestrian crosswalk :)) So, the easiest way to do it is: 1- Raise your hand high up to show them attention. They will be aware that you want to cross the road. 2- When they are aware, just keep walking and don't try to stop suddenly. 3- If you see a big bus at high speed, try not to cut them and start over again. Enjoy crossing, my friends.

VIETNAM DONG IS THE CURRENCY

Vietnam has been using the currency called DONG for a hundred years. Because of the inflation before 1986, the currency has 000 on the back but they don't have any value. To make it easy for everyone, we usually call it 10k. K is equivalent to a thousand (000). So 10,000 VND = 10k. Up-to-date on October 5th 2022, 1 USD = 23.700 VND. In Vietnam Dong, we have no coins but 9+ bills: 500,000 = $22 200,000 = $8.5 100,000 = $4.2 50,000 = $2.1 20,000 = $.84 10,000 = $.42 5,000 = $.21 2,000 = $.08 1,000 = $.04 --500 and 200 bills are rarely seen and used.

TAXI

-Vinasun Taxi with a white car, Mai Linh Taxi with a green car, and Vina Taxi with a yellow car are your trustworthy taxi. Please AVOID any other taxis at all costs. They are scams. They advertise you with a kilometer charge but they can hack the system to overprice your fare. -Grab, Go Jek, and Be are the like Uber in Vietnam. They are trustworthy. You can pay either by cash or by card. Most importantly, you can book a motorbike taxi.
