One of our favorite places to eat breakfast/lunch is Wildflour Cafe. They serve coffee, smoothies, fresh baked goods, and lunch. Located just across the street (next to Subway). One of the healthier dining options in town.

Sitka is walk-friendly and the easiest way to get around

If you don't have a rental car and don't mind potential rain, we suggest renting a bike from yellow jersey cycle shop, just a block or two away and then biking out to each end of town

Everyone knows everyone, so don't be afraid to say "Hi"

Since this town is so small the locals can spot a traveler from a mile away. Locals are very friendly and happy to help out, so if you feel lost or are looking for local input, just ask! We love to make eye contact and say hi when passing by strangers, so join in the culture and say hello to all the friendly faces.

Buy a silver saver card if you are here for a longer stay

Silver Saver cards are sold by the Chamber of Commerce and participating businesses. Each card features local discounts that really add up. The card is $15 and proceeds go to supporting the Chamber.

Taxis are hit and miss

A lot of people ask about getting around Sitka. our rentals are very centrally located, and ideal for walking around Sitka. If you want to get around you can rent bikes/ebikes, rent a car through Turo, or through Avis at the airport. We have a vehicle available for rent as well. Ask me about the availability if you are interested. To get to our rentals from the airport, we can sometimes offer pickup and drop off service for an extra fee of $40 round trip ($20 one way).
